Ahwooga was born in casual conversation between myself (Joe Chirco) and my business partner Don Wiggins. Don and I have worked together for many years, and we first met as teenagers at an auto swap meet in 1980. As we were discussing the online venues we used to grow our own aftermarket automotive parts companies, we came to one inescapable conclusion. “Car people” deserved better: more user-friendliness, easier communication between buyers and sellers, and the biggie—less cost per transaction.

We understand it has been a difficult time in the automotive parts industry, not only to show a profit but to just keep your employees at work. Don and I knew that maintaining our growth would be difficult with online marketplaces’ fees and requirements driving the cost of doing business sky high. We knew that other people were having the same problems.

We thought that if we could find online marketplaces that had low or “no” sales fees, the added sales could help offset some of our rising expenses. We spent many hours searching for marketplaces that would fill the void but there was none to be had. It was at this point that we decided that something had to be done, and we were the guys to do it. We assembled a team of talented and motivated people and laid out what was needed to help sellers add revenue to their companies at a very low expense. After a year of intense development, we finally made our vision a reality. Ahwooga was born.

I built my automotive companies the same way that many other hard working people have: lots of work, long hours, and cold dinners. I started selling parts at swap meets in the late Seventies on the west coast and that feeling of connecting with people who share the same interest has never left me. After all, that’s how I met Don.

This is the same feeling we want to bring to all people that use Ahwooga. It is a secure environment with great tools to allow sellers to be the BOSS of their Ahwooga stores. We will not impose our will on such things as “what payment methods” a seller can accept or how a seller should ship products.

We offer sellers the most for their money which is why we will never have any final sales fees. You work hard for your money and we think you should keep it. (Strange idea these days, huh? ) We have very simple FREE! membership plans, and we are confident you will find one to meet your needs.

We also offer forums where you can post questions and get information, or just hang out, chat and meet some new friends.

Ahwooga was built for you. Our team will be there for you every step of the way. This is your community. Please have fun. Promote and sell your products with confidence and freedom. Remember, we’re car guys too. We get it.
