Background on Company Founders Joe Chirco and Don Wiggins:
• Met as teenagers in 1980 at the Tucson swap meet.
• Joe’s family grew up in the car capitol Detroit. His dad sells Packard parts.
• Joe started business as teen, rebuilding bicycles and selling them at swap
meets.
• Joe moved up to parts and repair on Baja Bugs. Opened standing business for
air-cooled VWs in 1980s; building is headquarters today for Ahwooga.com.
• Don went into U.S. Army in 1980s. Subsequent stints in service industries and
media/advertising. Lifelong muscle car/truck/motorcycle buff.
• Don reunited with Joe in 2001, became his general manager and began building
web presence for Air CooledVW business, using service industry/media experience.
• Joe and Don jointly formed Ahwooga.com in 2009.
